As promised, I’ve written a blog about the best parts of NZ. Actually, I use that term “written a blog very loosely”…I’ve compiled a list of some of my favourite things about my home country. You can interpret these as you choose – in a strange turn of events I haven’t elaborated on any of them. The most elaboration you’ll get is in this first paragraph. You see, I started to write this post a few days ago but I wasn’t happy enough with it to publish it – it seemed a little “show-offy” to me. I was busy going on about all these things that made NZ better than other countries, rather than my original intention of saying positive things about Aotearoa. So, without further ado, here is the list of *positive* things that I love about NZ:
Family
Friends
Childhood memories
More memories
Pineapple lumps
BBQs
Gumboots
Jandals
Barefeet
Camping
Beaches. So many beaches
Baches
Agriculture
Pasture-based farming
Horses. So many horses
Sir Edmund Hillary
Jenny Shipley (think about this one)
Marlborough Sounds
Lord of the Rings
The Hobbit
Our reputation overseas
Fish and Chips
All Blacks
Two degrees of separation
Hamish Bond & Eric Murray
Pride. So much pride
Pavlova
Coruba Rum
“She’ll be right”
Kiwi ingenuity
The haka
Silver Ferns
Summer Christmas
Boxing Day leftovers
Bungy jumping
It’s home.
So that’s a small, random snapshot into what I love about NZ. I could go on all day, but I’m going to leave it there.

That’s all for now,
